Dental Filling  Leominster, Fitchburg MA

Dental filling is a form of tooth restoration in which the doctor uses certain “fillers”, such as white composite or silver amalgams, to substitute for missing pieces of teeth. These holes in your teeth are most commonly caused by cavities, bacteria and plaque that have been dissolving your teeth overtime. Fillings are a good way to seal the gap and block more bacteria from possibly penetrating your teeth and entering your gums, causing nasty infections.

There are usually two ways that a dentist will prepare a restoration, which is either to make a direct restoration, by directly injecting the molding material into the cavity, or to make an indirect restoration, in which a mold is cast outside of the tooth then implanted.
